"Page's stories are, in the end, about journeys. The images that mark the signposts of these journeys are filled with collected energy, of movement that has come to rest, of movement that is about to rise and continues on its way." --James Moore, Albuquerque Museum
je n'ai trouvé aucune des images représentées dans le livre... mais pour vous donner quand même une idée
Citation :
John Fincher has created art that celebrates what the artist terms modestly “the trappings of the American West.” These “trappings” encapsulate references that are both familiar and totemic of the Great American Frontier and its mythic role as a reservoir of pride, strength, individualism and renewal. Distinguished by a singular blend of sensuality and authentic realism, his art explores diverse art historical and personal references to offer new understandings of America’s natural and cultural landscapes. His images of towering poplars, pine limbs set against crystalline skies, richly hued desert hillsides, the array of colors within canopies of aspens turning, and aggressively cropped prickly pears unravel the manifold cultural meanings inscribed within representations of the mythic American West. Elsewhere, as in an enigmatic painting of a lone padlock and a suite of serially repeated images of shaving brushes, the artist transmutes commonplace objects into powerful expressions that compound the equivocal with the intensely diaristic. source
les images qu'on peut trouver de ses œuvres sont de si mauvaise qualité, je préférerais même ne pas la montrer du tout... mais bon, j'ai quand même envie de partager quelques unes qui sont représentatives...
Citation :
“My work is about and has always been about land, about being aware of our surroundings and appreciating the beauty of nature. I am concerned that we are no longer aware of those. The calm and beauty that is in my work I hope serves as a reminder of what is underfoot, of the exchange we make with nature. Light, space, and color are the axis around which my work evolves.”

puisque le sujet du livre s'ancre sur les paysages, il est représenté avec ces trois images, mais sur son site on peut découvrir qu'il a une large palette d'œuvres très différentes

Citation :
Nature is a powerful inspiration. Terrell James always has explored the natural world, whether it be as a fossil collector while still a young child or as an artist attempting to grasp the ever changing light and color of landscapes. It is this lifelong connection/communication that Terrell has shared with nature that informs her work. Recently working in Berlin, she has been looking equally at the urban landscape. source
